Last Sunday Jason Lucas of Monsta Nash – helped me shoot a live performance video to submit to the NewSong Music Contest judges and fans. The sweet & incredibly gifted Sarah Zimmermann showed up to help and we ended up with this:

Sarah Zimmermann together with her partner in crime, Justin Davis, is part of Striking Matches (formerly Common Thread). It should be noted here, that Sarah was in the midst of moving in and out of apartments. She dropped everything to pick up her guitar and come play. It’s cool when you have ridiculously talented friends. It’s even cooler when they happen to be wonderful, generous people. She wouldn’t even let me buy her dinner. Sarah & Justin are in the midst of recording some material. I can’t wait to hear what they’ve come up with…

The contest now is in the regional judging and fan voting stage. It feels odd to me to solicit votes for this. I’m not running for office nor do I want to turn this into a popularity contest ala American Idol. Do whatever you feel is best. No guilt, no pressure, no drama.
